Today I’d like to tell you a little story about Van Niestat.
Now I’m sure Van has some connection to Ireland, but, in the direct absence of evidence, we shall take the road well trodden by science and simply hypothesise the connection for the sheer reason that every good tale includes this strange, green little country.
Van Niestat is a film maker, a real good one too. His brother is Casey Niestat, the embodiment of NYC to the YouTube generation. The two brothers didn’t come from much, I gather, but they bought shitty cameras and made good films about roadtrips and wildly wealthy birthday parties, some of which ended up at Sundance and Cannes.
The reason behind their well deserved success?
Their unparalleled ability to tell a story.
