We’ve talked a lot about Irish Wool over the past few months, we’ve catalogued and interviewed the farmers and academics doing their best to save Irish Wool from being discarded (see the usual fate of raw fleeces in the above photo).
And after all that research, I have a special place in my heart for designers who put their money where their mouth is and use Irish Wool in their designs and patterns.
Ryan Koenig, who you might remember from Issue 3 of the magazine, is a Dublin based knitwear designer, who has just released a new knitting pattern.
The Capel Street Traditional Irish Aran Cable Knit Scarf patterns uses an Irish wool DK knitting yarn which is available from my website Spirit & Luxury until Dec 31st.
