Here’s a fun one for ya.
The other day I heard about Festival Mná (mná meaning women) which billed itself as Ireland’s only women’s festival.
Oh! Well I’m a woman. I’m in Ireland. Why not go check it out or even better photograph it?
So I sent the poor harried organisers an email saying hey if you need a photographer, I can be there. And they said we have a photographer but here’s a free ticket.
Which to be fair is even better because I’m working but I’m also having an immense amount of fun.
So I toddled off to Westmeath under the influence of a big moon and a cheese sandwich and spent the day talking to women of all ages, backgrounds, faiths. Some brought children, grannies, husbands. There were tents and little huts and dance parties spread across the park and petting zoo.
Now if you’re wondering what witchcraft goes on at a women’s festival, you’ll be happy to know it was quite a calm, good feeling affair.
Everyone was in a good mood. People wandered around with yoga mats and fruit bow…
