The more mature I become, the more I realise that my art is not meant for every pair of eyes.
There is an energy exchange when someone views your picture. Whether you’re in it or not.
My personal Instagram is now a private account, away from the bots and the spam comments and prying eyes.
There is an immense amount of creativity which can be unleashed by stepping away from what is not aligned.
If you have run a social media account you might be familiar with the feeling of milking blood from a stone in terms of inspiration.
Because sharing, in its essence, stifles creativity.
Imagine a painter’s studio, smoke and cobalt all over the place. The painter dashes through the gloom mixing pigments and placing the finishing touches on the third layer of his latest masterpiece.
And then a notification… not a ring or a ding… but an internal notification, driven by fear and lack.
‘I must post the incomplete painting or no one will ever buy anything from me again!’
