Generosity
Meet our potter, Brenda McGinn
The best artists assume their audience are full of wisdom.
Deeply attuned to what is alive.
Ready to hear what you have to say.
There’s a generosity in this approach.
Speaking of generosity, meet Brenda McGinn.
A ceramics artist from Glaslough, Co. Monaghan, she has a wicked sense of humor and an endless ability to play. Brenda takes local clay and fires it into the most beautiful things, which meld seamlessly with the Irish landscape.
You can find Brenda’s Irish clay work in the Thing store.

Updates:
It’s been a big week, we had an amazing launch to email subscribers (that’s you!), THANK YOU FOR YOUR ORDERS! Myself and Brenda and the other artists are so excited to send these Things around the world. I also did the first press interviews for the Thing store and have a lot more coming up. Thank you for reading and we’ll chat next week.

What’s this new Thing?
My name is Aoife Long. I'm a photographer, a writer and filmmaker based here in Ireland. In 2023, my business Spirit & Luxury published an Irish arts magazine which was stocked in the National Gallery and other independent stores across Ireland.
For the reasons outlined here, I’m setting up an online store which is simply called Thing.
These Things are
Made in Ireland.
By hand.
With Irish materials.
Pretty simple.
Summary: I’m opening a store filled with beautiful Things handmade by Irish artisans. Click here to visit
